Day 1

Arrival

Upon arrival into Santiago airport you are given a warm Chilean welcome and transferred to your luxury city retreat for the night. Choose to relax after a long day of travelling or set out on foot to explore the cultural, historic and character-filled Lastarria neighbourhood.

Day 2

Experience a northern oasis

Your destination today is one of the driest place on earth, home to some of the most vast, diverse and spectacular landscapes on the planet - the Atacama Desert. Flying north to Calama and then transferring to San Pedro de Atacama, you have arrived in your desert oasis.

Hike across otherworldly landscapes

Setting out before dawn, take in the silhouette of the Andes Range against the dazzling starlit sky. Reaching the Tatio geothermal field, explore the fumaroles and natural hot springs of the Tatio Geysers, known locally as “Grandpa crying” before relishing a sunrise breakfast. This afternoon, discover the dramatic otherworldly landscapes of the Valley of the Moon, its inhospitable beauty and fascinating geological formations. Sitting atop a giant sand dune, marvel at the subtly changing colours across the landscape as the sun slips below the horizon, an unforgettable experience.

Day 4

The wonder and colour of the Atacama Desert

Relax this morning with a journey to the Puritama thermal springs. With seven pools to choose from, at temperatures of 30-33C, you can literally soak up the serenity. This afternoon, the incredible expanse of the Atacama Salt Flat beckons. Watch bright pink flamingos forage in salt pools against a backdrop of milky white salt plains. The captivating beauty of this region will leave you spellbound.

Day 5

Lift off into a desert sunrise

This morning, the Atacama skies are your destination as you fly over dramatic desert landscapes in a hot air balloon. At the first signs of dawn, board your hot air balloon and drift slowly over the other-worldly landscapes and spectacular multi-coloured rock formations of the Valley of the Moon and Valley of Mars against a backdrop of distant snowcapped volcanoes. An incredible experience.

Day 6

From wilderness to winery

Savour the crisp desert air over a final Atacama breakfast before departing the desert region. Your destination today is the charming Colchagua Valley. Located south of Santiago, the valley is known for its beautiful vineyard-covered hills, hundred-year-old vines, enchanting colonial estate houses, and modern high tech wineries. Overlooking vineyards and the surrounding mountains, Lapostolle is your base for the next two nights and the perfect place to enjoy nature in sophisticated style.

Day 7

Learn the secrets of the Colchagua Valley

Day 8

Uncover vibrant Santiago

Soak up the serenity on your private terrace before returning to Santiago to explore the capital. This afternoon, in the company of your expert guide, discover a city that both embraces change and retains an appreciation for its traditions and history. Discover the unique flavour of each neighbourhood, including the fascinating bohemian neighbourhood of Lastarria, majestic architecture of the Post Office and government buildings, and calming green spaces of the beautiful park on Santa Lucia Hill.

Day 9

Journey to the end of the world

Today you head to the end of the world, Patagonia. Arriving in Puerto Natales you are transferred to the Torres del Paine National park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and home to abundant fauna and wildlife. Settle in to your luxurious surrounds and marvel at the breathtaking views that will accompany you for the next three days.

Day 10

Trek through Valle del Francés

Frenchman’s Valley is considered by many to be the best section of the Torres del Paine hiking circuit, known as the “W”. Crossing the turquoise waters of Lake Pehoé by catamaran, you reach the start point for your hike. Climbing steep moraines, imposing peaks and immense granite rock faces come into view and you’re greeted with a breathtaking 360-degree view of the heart of the Paine massif.

Day 11

From Grey Glacier to deep blue lake

Strolling through an enchanting forest of Lenga trees down to Grey beach, enjoy the serenade of local birds. As you approach, the luminous blue of majestic icebergs floating down from nearby Grey glacier will leave you awestruck. For a different view, board your private boat or kayak for a breathtaking experience floating on the lake next to the glittering wall of ice. In the afternoon, explore the fascinating rocky calcium formations, white shoreline, black sand beaches and deep blue waters of Lake Sarmiento.

Day 12

Hike through a picture postcard

Today the jewel of this region awaits. Get an up-close and personal view of the magnificent granite towers of Torres del Paine. Your trek takes you through valleys, along mountain slopes and through beech forest. Standing in the middle of the most famous postcard of the region, next to the turquoise waters of a glacial carved lagoon, you’ll be awestruck at the scale and beauty of your surroundings. A challenging hike with a worthy reward.

Day 13

Soak up stunning landscapes

Enjoy a final breakfast with the incredible vistas of Torres Del Paine for company before returning to Puerto Natales. En route soak up landscapes of thick forests and expansive plains and keep an eye out for herds of guanacos. Then board your flight back to the capital, Santiago.

Day 14

Northern Patagonia in serious style

Today you head for the stunning lakes district and the exceptional Vira Vira Hacienda Hotel. Sitting on the shore of the Liucura River in the magnificent surrounds of a sprawling 40 hectare estate and working farm, the ultimate in nature and relaxation awaits. Spend the afternoon getting back to nature, experiencing farm life or learning the art of cheese making.

Day 15

The Lakes District by bicycle then a visit with the Mapuche

Discover forests of lenga, cordilleran cypress and majestic araucarias on a hiking or biking exploration of Villarica National Park. This afternoon, meet with local indigenous people, called the Mapuche or ‘people of the earth’, to immerse in their ancient culture and discover renowned Mapuche art.

Day 16

Relax in exceptional surrounds

Linger over a sumptuous breakfast of the freshest produce direct from the farm. Perhaps take a relaxing soak in a fire-heated wooden jacuzzi on the shores of the Liucura river and savour views of the river shadowed by ancient native forests. In the early afternoon, farewell the beautiful Lakes District as you return to Santiago.

Departure

Enjoy breakfast overlooking the vibrant city of Santiago before your private transfer returns you to Santiago airport for your departure flight.
