Stroll through the canopy of a cloud forest
Enjoy a walk in the sky through the Cloud Forest. Traversing suspended bridge walkways, with lengths up to 150m and between 12 and 60m in the air, follow the 3km trail for a unique perspective on the cloud forest. Looking down from your elevated position, observe the unique tropical ecosystem of the forest and catch glimpses of birds, monkeys, sloths and more.

Day 1
Welcome to a land of adventure & wilderness
Arrive at Juan Santamaria International Airport where you will be greeted and privately transferred to he cloud forests of Bajos del Rio Toro and your tranquil retreat. Enjoy a soak in your outdoor jacuzzi, before dinner in the heart of this incredible rainforest area.
Day 2
Feel the spray of spectacular waterfalls

After breakfast at your lodge surrounded by volcanic slopes covered by dense cloud forest, join your naturalist guide for a trek through pristine wilderness. Starting in the small village of Bajos del Toro, descend along a winding trail to the spectacular Bajos del Toro waterfall. Marvel as the red & yellow clays combine with green moss and the cooling mist of the waterfall.
Day 3
A brooding volcano, luxury villa & a walk in the sky

Departing the cloud forest area, you head for volcano country and the luxurious Nayara Springs. Today enjoy a walk in the sky. Ascending in an aerial tram, spot for native wildlife as you rise to the lookout point, where you’re rewarded with a panoramic view of the imposing Arenal Volcano and Arenal Lake. Then begin your walk through the treetops. Traversing suspended bridge walkways, follow the canopy trail for a unique perspective of the forest.
Day 4
Nature hike through primary rainforest
This morning, join an expert local guide as you head for the small village of La Tigra, the site where the first women’s suffrage occurred in 1950. Boarding a four wheel drive, travel through mountain routes to Pocosol Station, located alongside a volcanic lagoon and the entry point for your hike through the Eternal Forest. Keep an eye out for incredible native species, including exotic Toucans and wild Peccaries.
Day 5
Discover remote & beautiful Tortuguero
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Tortuguero – the gateway to the remote and beautiful Tortuguero National Park. Originally intended to protect a major nesting beach of the Atlantic green sea turtle, Tortuguero National Park now protects one of the last large areas of tropical rain forest in Central America. After being greeted at the airstrip and transferred by boat to Tortuga Lodge & Gardens, a gourmet lunch, siesta and a wilderness wonderland awaits.

Experience a wilderness wonderland

The early morning hours are especially active in the rainforest. Cruise the backwater lagoons and creeks of Tortuguero National Park by boat and soak up the ambience of the rainforest. Spot troops of Howler monkeys in search of young figs, encounter a river otter hunting, or watch a caiman quietly waiting for its next meal - a wilderness wonderland! Tonight relax with some canapés at the bar before enjoying an alfresco dinner under the stars.
Day 7
Secluded lagoons & jungle creeks by sea kayak

This morning it is time to begin your sea kayak exploration of Tortuguero National Park. Paddling for a couple of hours, sea kayaking gives you a whole new perspective of the rainforest. Glide silently through the water and lose yourself to the sights and sounds of the forest. Later enjoy a twilight walk through the rainforest.
Day 8
A secluded retreat where the jungle meets the ocean
Crossing the Tortugero River again by boat, you arrive at Tortuguero airstrip to begin your journey to Osa Peninsula, home to Costa Rica’s last remaining tropical humid rainforest. Your retreat for the next two nights is Lapa Rios, set in a private nature reserve overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Marvel at your surrounds, climb up to view the forest canopy and ocean, and enjoy.
Day 9
Explore primary rainforest in the company of tropical wildlife

After breakfast overlooking the jungle, join a resident naturalist to start your experience in the primary rainforest. Enjoy a glimpse into the seething life of a tropical rainforest and discover an incredible array of exotic birds, animals and flowers. Day 10
Costa Rica’s national treasure - Corcovado
The day starts early with Costa Rican coffee, fruits and pastries before departing for Sirena Station in the world famous Corcovado National Park, one of the most biologically rich places on earth. In the company of your expert guide, an avid wildlife spotter, explore Corcovado’s trails as you observe monkeys, iguanas, incredible birds and perhaps even the largest mammal in Costa Rica, the Tapir. Corcovado is a true jungle adventure!
Day 11
The local medicine man & a night safari

Today join a local medicine man to trek through the pristine rainforest. Discover the traditional medicinal uses of plants and seeds, and the indigenous culture and customs of Costa Rica. In the evening, experience the magic of the rainforest at night. Using flashlights, uncover the unusual nocturnal creatures of the rainforest and their habitats. Back at the lodge, enjoy an alfresco dinner under a sea of stars.

After breakfast, you leave the lodge for the Uvita area and the stunningly located Kura Design Villas. The southernmost region of Costa Rica, here the jungle meets the sea. Discover vast stretches of coastline, black volcanic beaches, and a rich marine environment. The Ballena Marine National Park is the jewel of this area. At the luxurious Kura, head for the Sky Lounge and its 360 degree views of the Costa Rican jungle and ocean.
Day 13
Secluded bays, jungle beaches & more
Today, do as much or little as you like. Perhaps take a short drive to protected and unspoiled Take a walk on the beach, discover secluded bays, swim and snorkel. Ballena Marine National Park. Back at your retreat, take a swim in the saltwater infinity pool, swing in a hammock, and spot for passing humpback whales. In the evening indulge in a sumptuous meal at Kura’s sophisticated restaurant.
Day 14
The art of Costa Rican coffee
This morning you bid farewell to your stunning retreat and transfer back to San José. Finca Rosa Blanca Inn is your home for the night. With 30 acres of certified organic coffee surrounding you, experience coffee through the ages, learn how it was discovered, traded and consumed, then stroll the lanes of an organic sustainable coffee plantation before discovering the art of coffee over a coffee tasting. Savour the gorgeous tropical gardens and the never-ending views.
