Day 1

A charming Lao welcome, on the banks of the Mekong

Upon arrival into Laos you’re transferred to your luxury accommodation, where you’ll experience the spirit of traditional Lao hospitality. In the early evening travel by tuk tuk to a bustling night food market. With few tourists to be seen, watch the market come alive at night as you select dishes to sample at dinner.

Day 2

Vientiane, the unhurried capital, with a resident expert


Welcome to Laos’ charming capital city, Vientiane. Visit the glittering former royal temple of Wat Prakeo and have your camera ready for the golden stupa of That Luang before taking in the history of the Vietnam War era at the COPE exhibition centre. A spectacular sunset over the Mekong River is the perfect way to end the day.

Nam Ou River Gorge by kayak


Experience the breathtaking beauty of Nam Ou River Gorge as you paddle downstream by kayak. Then travel through the rolling countryside, admiring the beauty of the river and surrounding rice paddy fields en route to the mysterious caves of Pak Ou. Finally, arrive in UNESCO World Heritage listed Luang Prabang and enjoy an alfresco dinner in one of the city’s elegantly restored colonial villa restaurants.

Day 7

Discover atmospheric Luang Prabang by bicycle

Day 8

Sacred traditions & a private waterfall breakfast

Breakfast is a private gourmet affair beside the beautiful Kuang Si Waterfall. Then relax aboard your private boat and see the Mekong come alive as you cruise past jungle-clad mountains.

Day 9

An abundance of waterfalls

Enjoy an alfresco breakfast on the open-air verandah surrounded by lush, flower-filled gardens. Farewell charming Luang Prabang and travel south to Pakse, an area of abundant waterfalls. Spend the afternoon admiring the beautiful Paxaum and Tad Lo Waterfalls before retreating to your stylish lodge overlooking a teal-green river. Day 10

Coffee & culture

Travelling along rough trails in an old Vietnam war era Jeep, head into the heart of the cool Bolaven Plateau. Day 11

Ancient religions & a dramatic sunrise

Day 12
