Meet the Elephants of Myanmar
Trek through the Myanmar jungle to the village of Magwe, near Kalaw in central Myanmar, to experience a memorable elephant encounter.
The family-run Green Hill Valley Elephant Camp is a refuge for elephants retired from logging camps. Home to seven Asian elephants, the camp offers the opportunity for visitors to get up close and personal with these magnificent animals while also preserving the local environment through a reforestation project. After a welcome drink and introduction to the camp, join your guide to stroll through the ecologically diverse area in search of the elephants, most likely to be found bathing in the river or foraging for food in the forest. Enjoy feeding time with the elephants before changing into traditional Shan clothing to prepare the elephants for bathing. Choose to join the elephants for their bath or simply and enjoy watching the gentle giants in their natural environment.
After indulging in a lunch of locally grown produce, spend time trekking through the jungle, enjoy more elephant encounters alongside their mahouts, plant a sapling to help reforestation and even make a personalised elephant dung postcard! An unforgettable day.
