The Upper House, Hong Kong – high-style haven

Our travels take us far and wide and so it was we recently spent some time in Hong Kong solely to experience an amazing hotel we had been hearing all about and to eat our way around the incredible food scene on offer here. Our home was the high-style haven, The Upper House. And it literally is The Upper House, sitting high above another hotel and occupying the prime floors from levels 37 to 50 in the heart of Hong Kong island and close to the hip Wan Chai district.

The sanctuary of Borobudur from serene Amanjiwo

Java in Indonesia is home to the world’s largest Buddhist sanctuary, Borobudur. Dating back to the 9th century, the temple is located in the middle of Java on the lush and rural Kedu Plain rimmed with active volcanoes, including the awe-inspiring Mount Merapi which broods and billows away in the distance. As if all of this was not enough, adding a stay at the stunning Amanjiwo to the mix was enough to leave us speechless.
