When is the best time to go?
One of the most often asked questions here at Seven Skies is “What is the best time to visit…?” Fair enough, travellers generally don’t want to be hiking in soggy conditions, or find activities closed due to snow. However those who avoid travelling in “off” seasons can be overlooking some key points.
With changing global weather patterns, seasons are becoming less typical and harder to predict. So it is advisable not to put too much emphasis on weather in choosing when to travel.
Often travelling in low and shoulder seasons can provide a more adventurous, colourful and memorable experience than going at peak times. Jungle greens seen during rainy season, spectacular sunsets and brimming waterholes following a late afternoon shower, waterfalls in full splendour, these delights are only experienced in times traditionally noted in guide books as ‘when not to travel’.
Tourist numbers are also lower, meaning you’ll often find more intimate experiences at top attractions, and many hotels and restaurants offer special rates and even upgrades during these times. Travelling off peak you’ll notice a warmer welcome too, from locals who have grown weary of the tourist crowds and are happy for more relaxed encounters.
